[Magic]: Whirlwind

[Personality]:
Alice is a gentle soul that cares for everyone those around her. She tries her utmost best to please people and to live up to expectations. Although this may not be the best of habits, Alice finds deep satisfaction in knowing that she is able to bring a smile upon a person's face, even if she'd have to sacrifice a lot. She is very shy, very timid, and it takes a lot for her to mingle with a group of people. However, after she feels comfortable with someone, she'll be a lot more talkative and woul probably tell numerous stories, be it of her own life or out of the several books she keeps at home. Alice is also an incredibly over-protective older sister and she'd opt to stay out of any sort of trouble or mischief. She is quite rule-bound and would only pick the safest options. She puts her sisters first before anything else and would do anything to protect them and keep them happy.
Alice is very skilled with basic household skills such as cooking, cleaning and sewing but she prefers to work in the only place she'd feel most relaxed and at home - the library. Since Alice was born with a very slght anxiety problems, she tries her best to keep herself calm and collected most of the time. Otherwise, she'd panic at the smallest of reasons and would jump into illogical conclusions.

[History]:
My name is Alice Blair, the eldest daughter in our family. I grew up with Adelaide Blair, my mother and... Derick Blair, my..father. He was always out working--or rather, drinking and other things. My mother... Well my mother is the best kind of person you could ever meet anywhere. She was kind and gentle and sweet and understanding. I'd watch her make bread and after I'd help her with the chores, she'd read to me books about fairytales and adventures. She wasn't a very healthy mom, though. She'd get sick easily and would sometimes be too weak to go to the markets. But she was cheerful about it, I never saw her complain about any of it. Father took care of her sometimes. He wasn't the type of person who'd always be there for you, but I could tell he loved mom. And who wouldn't?

When I turned 4 years old, mom gave birth to beautiful twin sisters, Amelia and Arianna. Unfortunately, my mother didn't live very long after..

To be honest, I didn't cry, I didn't sob, and I didn't sulk. I was upset, of course, she was never coming back but...she did raise me to believe that when people leave their lives, they never really leave. They turn to butterflies. I grew up loving them more than ever, knowing that one of them could be my mom. Kind of silly if you think about it, but the thought comforted me. At least I knew that mom was still in this world with me.

I was more upset knowing my sisters wouldn't be able to experience my moments with our mother. So I figured I'd relive my moments with her with them. I knew it was never going to be the same, but I made sure they grew up with the same stories, the same love and the same kind of tenderness I had.

Years went by and we became older. Dad never changed. He did try to get another job, though.. To be able to earn for all 3 of us without the help of our mom. He drank more too. But I think its because he missed mom. He wasn't very good at showing his emotions. Meanwhile, I learned how to clean, cook and sew. The neighbors our dad used to leave us with when he left for work taught me everything I know. I began to take care of my sisters. I'd sometimes bake a few biscuits and sell them to the other townsfolk. I used the little amount of money I earned to buy treats for my sisters and books for me. However, dad still hasn't been able to get proper jobs and we were short on money most of the time.

When I turned 20, we recieved a letter inviting us to live in a place called Lucine. It sounded pleasant and a great way to start anew. It didn't take me long to decide on things. I discussed it with my sisters and we all decided to go. We gathered our things and packed our bags. Now my father didn't seem to like the sound of moving into a totally different place and totally different people. He didn't even give me the chance to tell him where this place is and how it looked like. He didn't give the place a chance. I grew impatient with him. After all, its been 20 years and he still has those bottles of wine in hand. I said my goodbyes and I took my sisters and left. Yes, my father and I argued on the way out, but I was doing this for my sisters. I can't let them live with a father that drank all day and night.

After arriving at Lucine, my sisters and I settled quickly and most of the townsfolk seemed friendly. We all got jobs to support each other. I, of course, headed straight to the library. We are currently living steadily and happily. And my sisters are finally living in an environment they deserve to be in.

I still send father some of the money I've earned. I do hope he hasn't been using it on anything unnecessary. I wouldn't know. He doesn't reply to my letters. I'd probably come back just to see how he is going. But right now, I think I'll enjoy my time here, in the peaceful and pleasant Lucine.

(Long history is long, I'm testing to see if this is a more efficient way of depicting my character's history. Since I'm better at narrating than I am at story telling anyway orz;; ))
